Nonprofit Wisconsin: In Brief 2019

The Helen Bader Institute (HBI) for Nonprofit Management at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s only Nonprofit Academic Center, recently engaged a team of faculty, staff and community members to update its 2015 Nonprofit Wisconsin: In Brief.

The 2019 Nonprofit Wisconsin: In Brief provides context and clarity to common misconceptions about the nonprofit sector and promotes an understanding of its role in providing services to enhance the well-being of Wisconsin’s citizens.

In this edition, HBI looks specifically at the economic impact nonprofit organizations have throughout Wisconsin. Nonprofit Wisconsin: In Brief – Size and Scope & Economic Impact looks at the overall population of nonprofits county-by-county, including a breakdown of the various funding types most heavily relied upon in each area. The report goes on to illustrate aspects of nonprofit organizations in Wisconsin to help inform policymakers, foundations, the media, and the public at large about the importance of the diverse – and growing – nonprofit sector.

Join the HBI staff as they breakdown the numbers and discuss its contents, looking at the overall status of Wisconsin’s nonprofit sector and the impact it has on our statewide community.
